Still Don't Think McCain Has Lost It?
I'm on vacation this week, so I haven't been doing too much blogging or keeping up with the news, but I saw one headline I had to chase down, and it's a doozy.
Asked about the situation between Russia and Georgia, he announced "in the 21st century, nations don't invade other nations."
This from a guy running to lead our nation on his supposed agreement with the current President's tactics in the war on terror that has involved invasions of not one but TWO countries since the start of the 21st century, and seems perpetually on the verge of a third.
Late yesterday there was video of the event, but it doesn't seem to be available right now. If it is later I'll come back and add it.
Liam.

Maybe his definition of "invade" doesn't include situations where we simply walk into and control countries we feel are ours anyway (Iraq).
.... just a joke
I think he feels that any loud blustering will impress those voters who don't watch much media or who don't focus on the details. Speak loudly and wave a lot of flags, and folks will think he makes a good President.
But can you imagine the families of soldiers who are in Iraq or have served and died in Iraq and Afghanistan, how they feel when they hear this? Doesn't he realize when they hear this, they're thinking, "What the ......?"

To say nothing of the citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan who lost their lives or their loved ones, and whose lives (particularly in Iraq) are only just now returning to something like the prosperity they had before we went in.

Yes, but those Iraqi and Afghanistan people don't vote here (the living ones, that is).
Besides, Bush and McCain likely view it as fewer Iraqis means more oil for us. Ok, that was sick. But Bush and McCain don't care about our own military, so they certainly don't care about people of other countries.

Sadly, I think there's probably more truth than not in your statement.
Thanks!
