Folks,

I've been saying for days now that the "They were shooting at the rescue helicopters" reports were most likely not people shooting AT rescuers, but people who had guns and, being without much else, thought that by firing them off, they might call attention to themselves, much like a ship-wrecked person stranded on an island might build a fire if they saw a plane overhead.

My wife is currently on the phone with a friend from Louisiana. This friend just confirmed my speculations.

Apparently Aaron Neville's daughter (who was apparently also raped) was on a school building and was part of a group that did exactly that. There are some rescuers. We're here. How do we make them see us? Shoot the gun!
