9/11 Commission re-forming?

The 9/11 Commissioners are taking an unusual step and forming a privately funded Commission to investigate and report on the steps which have (and more importantly, have not) been taken to make America safer in the aftermath of the attacks of 9/11.

This can only be good news. If this independent group sheds some light of truth on some dank and dusty areas where the dirty laundry is stored, better for America. If it goes through it's process and finds there is no dirty laundry (or there is, but only small amounts in the usual places), then maybe we can put to rest some of my objections about this Administration.

Of course, this will do little about the Iraq war, the start of which marked the point at which I decided that this President was the most damaging to the country within my memory. But inasmuch as we're told that everything he and his administration are doing is to make us safer in a post-9/11 world (indeed sometimes it seems to be the only answer they give to any of a wide variety of criticisms), it'd be nice to see if an independent review honestly feels making us safer in a post-9/11 world is really even on the President's radar.

I skimmed through the executive summary report. I have not gotten into the details. It's a bit... overwhelming.

Have you?

Liam.

Yeah. I'd love to have the time to read through it (if nothing else, it should be a good cure for my insomnia), but I really don't. Life is too hectic.

I'll keep it on my "to do" list, which means sometime in the next 6 months I'll either get around to it, or finally decide I never will and cross it off anyway. :-)

Liam.
