McCain Concession Speech
Now THAT was a speech. If McCain had spoken like that during the campaign, he might not have lost.
Seriously.

I agree, it was a terrific concession speech. I was impressed, and agree that he might have had a chance if he'd shown this side all through the campaign. I even feel he's funny, I howled during that Smith banquet. He has moments when he does well. Unfortunately, the man is misguided, either by himself or others he chooses to be around him.
And if he'd been more like this AND picked anyone other than Palin as a running mate, things may have been different for him.

The conspiracy center of my brain has been running like an army of squirrels for months now ... so this just feeds into it.
Wingnut theory #5552: the whole election season has been carefully orchestrated, with both sides participating. Every off-kilter attack ad, stupid speech, incendiary "Real America" comment ... it's all been set up to play the American people like a cello. Obama was selected as the winner at least a year ago. McCain made crazy talk because it elicited the desired response from the voting public -- BOTH sides. Now that it's done, he breaks free from his handlers and makes the speech he wanted to.
OK, implausible ... but it'd make a great novel.

Ross, it's a cute theory, but I'm just not quite that conspiracy minded yet. :-)
Linda, thanks for stopping by!
And Cindy, I'm not sure I get your reference.
